I. Introduction to the Workshop

      Based on the 26th National Psychology Conference, this workshop focuses on the complete process of designing psychological experiments and analyzing brain computer magnetic data using the Python language. The first part will introduce how to build visual, auditory and other cognitive experiments through PsychoPy, covering experimental structure, stimulus presentation and behavioral data recording. The second part will give an in-depth explanation of the use of the MNE-Python toolkit, especially the analysis methods such as preprocessing of EEG data, event-related potentials, and data visualization techniques. Through hands-on practice, this workshop will help participants master the use of Python to carry out experiments and neural data processing, thus enhancing the convenience, efficiency and reproducibility of scientific research.

IV. Introduction to the presenter

      Dr. Chu-Guang Wei, Senior Experimenter of the Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Institute-level Public Technology Center, has been providing technical support work in cognitive and behavioral research platform for a long time, focusing on experimental methods related to cognitive and behavioral research, such as experimental procedure development, functional near-infrared optical imaging, physiological and behavioral record analysis, and eye tracking technology. He is familiar with Python language and related tools and software, and is good at batch processing of cognitive and behavioral data using tools such as Numpy, Pandas, Matplotlib, MNE-Python, etc., especially in designing, editing, and presenting psychologically stimulating materials using PsychoPy Builder & Coder. Honors include technical support talents in the category of technical master of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and outstanding individuals in public technology centers at both the institute and institute levels of CAS.

       Dr. Chen Feng is an assistant researcher at the Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research focuses on examining the cognitive neural mechanisms and developmental mechanisms of Chinese language production using behavioral experiments, EEG techniques, and computational modeling, and he specializes in EEG/MEG data analysis and result visualization using Python and MNE-Python. His research work has been published in Cognition, Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience, Cerebral Cortex and other journals.
