The forum took "Future Medical", "Intelligent Manufacturing and Robotics", "Automated Driving and Low Altitude Economy" and "Transformation of Production and Research and Going to the Sea" as the starting point, and discussed in depth how to infuse enterprises with new development momentum through scientific and technological innovation, cost reduction and efficiency enhancement, as well as transformation of production and research. On the scene of the forum, activities such as big health research consortium, robotics and intelligent manufacturing production and research cooperation were launched, and the ICV HMI design evaluation system group standard was pre-released.
At the forum site, Wang Songling, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and dean of medical school of Southern University of Science and Technology, Wang Peng, vice president of Intel China Research Institute and director of Digital Healthcare Laboratory, Hao Luoxi, professor of School of Architecture and Urban Planning of Tongji University, Yan Weixin, co-founder of Wisdom Robotics and professor of Shanghai Jiaotong University, and Song Menghua, head of Beijing Mercedes-Benz Planning Training and Execution Group, and other representatives of the academic sector and industry experts gathered together and centered on "Future Medicine - Digital Intelligence and Homeostatic Medicine Model" "Generative AI Opens a New Era of Healthcare Integration" "General Artificial Intelligence Enables General Robotics "The experts will share the latest research results, cutting-edge technologies, successful cases and practical experiences, analyze the opportunities and trends of innovation in the field, and provide enterprises with inspiration, ideas, and approaches to learn from.
"We are based on the NUST College of Innovation and Creative Design at the moment the study of the industry theme and the latest results start, combined with Shenzhen, the city of science and innovation, industrial chain supply chain rich resources, the use of university resources as a bridge for the industry, academia and research to provide a strong 'catalyst' role. " Southern University of Science and Technology College of Innovation and Creative Design Chair Professor, Vice President of the Robotics Research Institute Sun Xiaohua said.

Exploring human-computer co-coordination, so that people and computers can complement each other's strengths

International Symposium on Human-Computer Co-coordinated Computing and Book Launch of "Human-Computer Co-coordinated Computing" on November 22ndSix cutting-edge innovation workshops on six themes, including "New Tools for Cross-Platform Interactive Innovation," "Exploring Future Scenarios for BioHCI Innovation," and "Cross-Generational Awareness of the Aging Process," were also held in parallel. The workshop will be held in parallel.
"In this book, we propose a new paradigm of human-machine co-coordinated computing, redefining human relationships, providing thoughts and inspiration for the overall direction of technology, including AI, and in a sense providing a role of 'stepping on the brakes', calling on scientists to always consider in their cutting-edge technological exploration the both sides of technology and always adhere to the concept of human-centeredness." As one of the main creators of Human-Machine Co-coordinated Computing, Ren Xiangshi, a tenured professor at the School of Informatics at Kochi University of Technology and director of the Human-Machine Co-coordinated Research Institute, told reporters.
Human-computer interaction (HCI) is a technology that realizes human-computer dialogue in an effective way through computer input and output devices. According to Jian Zhao, assistant professor of the School of Computer Science at the University of Waterloo, Canada, in the industrial field, HCI corresponds to the user experience, and more and more emerging enterprises are exploring how to make new products more naturally integrated into the public's life in a better way and with better systems to help people live and work more conveniently.
"The School of Innovation, Creativity and Design at SUSTech has been working to create a vibrant ecosystem that will shape a science and innovation-led, socially responsible, and economically vibrant new future by continuously bridging the gap between academia and industry, and by collaborating with industry representatives, startups, and other academic institutions to inspire new technologies and new business models. " Tom Kvan, founding dean and chair professor of the School of Innovation and Creative Design at Southern University of Science and Technology, mentioned.

Fueling innovation and creativity and integration, promoting the integration of industry, academia and research

From November 23rd to 24th, keynote speeches, paper presentations, new frontier poster exhibition and digital art works exhibition were held simultaneously at SUSTech. Among them, Chinese CHI2024 Digital Art Exhibition, with the theme of "Innovation-Creativity-Integration", presents a new dimension of discernment, not only showcasing art, but also inviting creators to transcend boundaries, break down disciplinary barriers, and integrate innovation, creativity, and comprehensive thinking into their works to create an experience that transcends the present to Call on artists and designers to rethink the relationship between art and technology and break through the existing paradigm of human-computer interaction.
The keynote speeches of the conference covered the topics of Inclusive Data Experience, Social Computing Design, Music and Art Visualization, Human-AI Interaction Design, Pervasive Interaction, Sci-Fi Industry and Imagination in the Age of AI, etc. Six scholars were invited to give keynote speeches, including Bongshin Lee from Yonsei University in South Korea, Jun Hu from the Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands, Takayuki Ito from Ochanomizu Women's University, Anthony Tong from Singapore Management University, Bo Xiao from the University of British Colombia, and Yan Wu from SUSTech. Six scholars were invited to deliver keynote speeches, including Xiao Bo from the University of Columbia, and Wu Yan from SUSTech.
In addition, the conference also set up a special symposium on the Greater Bay Area, in which scholars and experts from the City University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), the Macau University of Science and Technology, and the Southern University of Science and Technology discussed the topic of "Facing the Next Generation of Interactive Technologies: Conceptual Transformation of Education, Research, and Industry".
"The fact that this conference has been chosen to be held in Shenzhen for the first time and assigned to the School of Design of SUSTech reflects, on the one hand, the importance attached by overseas scientific and technological groups and experts and scholars to Shenzhen as a highland of innovation, and on the other hand, it also highlights the value of design as a cross-discipline. By integrating multidisciplinary concepts and incorporating cutting-edge HCI technologies, it will open up new paths for industrial progress." As the current president of the World Chinese Overseas Chinese Human-Computer Interaction Association, Fu Zhiyong, Associate Professor of Academy of Arts and Design, Tsinghua University, said that Shenzhen is a nationally renowned design capital and city of creators, and that the School of Design of SUSTech has created a new paradigm of cross-disciplinary integration and development from the very beginning of its founding, which provides good landing conditions for HCI, and helps to inspire more experts and scholars to use design as a breakthrough to realize the full articulation of industry and design, thus better realize the training of talents and the exploration and tracking of cutting-edge science.
