With the theme of "Constructing a New Ecology of Industry and Education Integration, Empowering New Quality in the Age of Digital Industry", the conference brought together academicians, authoritative experts, scholars from universities and industry representatives in the field of design.400The event is a great opportunity for people to meet and draw a new blueprint for the development of industrial design.

8Month5The second meeting of the 8th Committee of Industrial Design Branch of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society was held on the evening of Nov. 1, 2012, attended by Chairman Mao Ming, Senior Advisor Gu Peihua, Executive Vice Chairman Sun Shouqian, Director General Chai Chunlei and other leaders. The meeting was chaired by Wu Qun, deputy director general. Mr. Chai Chunlei reported on the first meeting of the Eighth Committee of Industrial Design Branch of the Mechanical Engineering Society.29The organization of the 1st Annual National Academic Conference on Industrial Design. Afterwards, the meeting discussed matters such as member additions, recognition of advanced workers, and admission of enterprise units to the conference. Sun Shouqian, Gu Peihua and Mao Ming delivered speeches respectively.

8Month6On the morning of January 1, the conference was opened in the solemn national anthem. Zhang Lei, Secretary General of Tianjin Design Society, presided over the opening ceremony. Mr. Zhang Yanmin, executive vice president of China Innovation Design Industry Strategic Alliance, and Mr. Mao Ming, vice president of China Mechanical Engineering Society and chairman of Industrial Design Branch, delivered speeches respectively, expressing warm congratulations on the successful convening of the conference. Wang Ying, president of Mechanical Design Magazine, released the excellent thesis collection of the conference, "Special Issue on Product Innovation Design".30The papers were awarded the Outstanding Paper Award. Mr. Chai Chunlei, Director General of Industrial Design Branch, Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, read out the award.2025The decision to recognize the advanced workers of the Society, Southwest Jiaotong University, Zhi Jinyi, etc.8One member was honored.

After the opening activity, the conference entered the invited report session, which was hosted by Sun Shouqian, professor of Zhejiang University. Mao Ming, researcher of North China Vehicle Research Institute and academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tan Runhua, life-long honorary director of National Engineering Research Center for Innovation Methods and Implementation Tools, and Gu Peihua, director of New Engineering Education Center of Tianjin University, made invited reports, which pushed the academic atmosphere of the conference to a climax. After the invited reports, the conference entered the roundtable forum on the theme of "Integration of Industry and Education in Industrial Design", in which guests from the industrial sector such as Ren He of Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Wu Jian of Haier Innovation Design Center, Li Qian of Helicopter Design Institute of China, and Wu Xia of Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Company Limited of China Motorcycle Company, discussed in depth the practical path and development opportunities of the synergistic innovation between industry and education in industrial design. The forum was organized by Hangzhou Bole Industrial Design Co. The forum was hosted by Zhou Ligang of Hangzhou Bole Industrial Design Co. In the afternoon, the10High-end academic forums and seminars were held as scheduled, with enthusiastic and fruitful discussions among the participants.

8Month7The keynote report of the conference was carried out as scheduled in the morning of Sunday. Mr. Chen Guoqiang, Vice President of Yanshan University, Prof. Luo Shijian of Zhejiang University, Prof. Li Hao of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Prof. Su Jianning of Lanzhou University of Science and Technology, and others gave keynote speeches.8Experts shared their latest research results and practical experience on cutting-edge academic topics such as equipment manufacturing, product innovation design, optimization design, digital twin, engineering simulation and so on.

At the closing ceremony, Mr. Lu Changde, executive vice president of Silk Road Innovation and Design Industry Alliance, delivered a wonderful speech. In the common witness of all the participants, the General Assembly held a grand flag handover ceremony. Zhang Lei, Secretary General of Tianjin Design Society, on behalf of the co-organizers of this annual conference, handed over the flag to Wu Qun, Executive Deputy Director General of Industrial Design Branch of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society.
